Galvachers

The galvachers were men, often the husbands of the Nourrices de Morvan who left the Morvan region every summer with their bullock-drawn carts to seek work in more wealthy areas transporting harvested goods, wood, minerals or metal products. After a farewell drink at the 1st of May fair in the commune of Anost Saone et Loire, they set off, not returning until the end of November.
