Flavigny Sur Ozerain
Flavigny sur Ozerain, in the Cote d'Or department, is famous for the fabrication of Anis de Flavigny; little sweets based on a grain of aniseed. These sweets were invented by the monks of Flavigny abbey, and indeed the abbey itself is now a factory which produces them!
One of the monumental gates to the village
Flavigny is counted as one of "les plus beaux villages de France", and with its golden stone and the picturesque hilltop setting, it is easy to see why.
