Colette

Colette, (1873-1953), one of France’s most famous writers, was born in the Burgundy region, at St-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, Yonne, and many of her works refer to the countryside of her infancy. The house in which she spent her childhood is now a museum, and the “rue de l’Hospice” in which it lies has been rebaptized “rue Colette” in her honour.
